Speaker Series: Supporting the bariatric patient: short-, medium- and longer-term outcomes

Mr Richard Babor and Mr Grant Beban, General, Upper GI and Bariatric Surgeons, provided this update
at the Goodfellow Symposium held in Auckland in March 2025 to inform physicians on the short-,
medium- and longer-term outcomes from bariatric surgery including risks, benefits, and costs, along
with a range of weight control options for patients that are overweight, including medications and
endoscopic options. A guide to managing common complications in primary care was also covered.
